Just after this eatery opened David and I couldn’t wait to sample their fare, and it was not a happy experience. Early this week we tried again. We walked into their beautiful outdoor dining room very carefully and ordered our drinks. After scanning the menu and seeing the humongous portions being delivered to other diners, we made our move and placed our orders. We had heard from our friends that this was the place to be for the best Italian food in Rosarito. We were later to learn that maybe the best in all of Mexico.
The bread and savory dipping sauce delivered to our table was the tip off as to what was to come. We ordered half portions of salad and pasta and were glad we did. The salad was magnificent with crisp greens, apple and goat cheese and the perfect dressing. Our pasta Bolognese could not have been more delicious with sauce from heaven and chunks of delicious sausage. Both dishes were more than enough for two.
They offer many different pizzas that are quite large as well as calzone, antipasti, soups and various pasta dishes and salads. If that weren’t enough, our two half dishes came to 69 pesos each, a bargain in the making. By four PM the restaurant patio was packed with people and more were coming in as we left.
At these prices we can frequent this restaurant often and enjoy excellent quality food for less than we might pay elsewhere. The waiters were swamped by hungry customers, so eating early may mean better service. This beautiful venue is not to be missed and has taught us that first impressions are not always binding.
