Ensenada’s Santo Mitote Restaurant

Baja's Best BitesSituated in a newly developed section of Ensenada’s Macroplaza del Mar, just across from the Cinépolis Theater, Santo Mitote offers the welcome addition of a bistro style bar and eatery to help augment your dining options at this already popular shopping and entertainment complex.

This stylish establishment also features a pleasant open air patio and dining area upstairs, which overlooks the sand dunes and ocean to the west and is a perfect setting for intimate private parties and business meetings.  In addition to full bar service, their reasonably priced menu is bright and varied with a touch of Mexican fusion.

Nopal Mitotera SaladDrop in early for one of their breakfast specialties like a rich shrimp omelet ranchero, Chilaquiles Poblanos or a hearty machaca burrito.  For a quick, light lunch after the movies, try the Nopal Mitotera salad with crisp cucumbers, nopalitos, juicy tomatoes, red onion, fresh cut corn, pickled cheese and a tasty homemade cilantro dressing.  They also feature a bevy of burgers, sandwiches and a wide selection of flavorful antojitos Mexicanos.

Those who come for dinner will not be disappointed either.  There are a variety of steaks, several innovative chicken dishes, shrimp, filet of salmon, and pasta dishes to satisfy a ravenous appetite.  One of my favorites is the San Quintin, which combines succulent shrimp in a lightly seasoned tomato sauce served over spaghettini al dente.

Looking for great appetizers and finger foods to share over a couple of your favorite beverages while enjoying live music in the downstairs lounge?  This is the place!  Try the marinated garlic mushrooms in red wine sauce with special seasonings, panela asada served with crunchy roasted pepitas and fresh green salsa or their deliciously spicy Bufadora wings.

Santo Mitote Restaurant and BarAny way you slice it, Santo Mitote is a one of a kind find in the Ensenada area that offers a stateside bistro feel fused with the flavor and style of Baja’s coastal cuisine.  The next time you find yourself hungry after a trip to the Macro Plaza mall, make a quick trip across the parking lot and give them a try!
