Life’s Much Better

Fill in the blank. Life’s much better with……. Personally, I like “with Baja” or “with friends” or “with wine” or “with music”.  Even better, life’s much better with Baja, friends, music and wine!

Ok – it’s a trick question.  The answer is “Life’s Much Better with Money,” the name of the title track of the much anticipated Baja Cowboys CD being released on April 4th.

If you haven’t heard of them yet, you’re about to.  The Baja Cowboys were created when a brainstorm happened for now band manager, Robert Donnell.  Robert dreamed of playing the guitar one day and he bravely set up guitar lessons with musician Randy Redmon, a Baja resident.  After a few lessons, Randy broke the sad news.  “Robert, I’m afraid you really don’t have any musical talent.”  But, there is a happy ending to this story.

What Robert lacked in musical talent he made up for by recognizing talent in others.  Inspired by the hotbed of talented musicians in Baja, he envisioned a group called the Baja Cowboys that would provide boot-stomping country rock and be a showcase for bringing super musicians on stage to perform.

Robert shared his vision with Randy and the lyrics to a song he had in head for years, “Life’s Much Better with Money”.  Robert wrote the lyrics and Randy brought the song to life with music.  The Baja Cowboys were born.  They had humble beginnings to be sure but have rapidly become a hot ticket that attracts fans from LA to Ensenada who come to enjoy their unique Baja-country-rock style.

Over the two years, band members came and went like most bands do, until they found their groove with rock solid bass player and lead singer, Randy, drummer Tom Doyle, “Big” Alex on keyboard and lead guitar Alex Cipres from Tijuana.  Joining the Cowboys on fiddle is Vegas performer Jennifer Agenti, who has played on stage with Willie Nelson.  Jennifer lends that all-out country sound that only a fiddle can deliver.

The exciting news is that they are releasing their first CD to the public on, April 4, 2015 at a concert and after party at the new Ruben’s restaurant located at K45.5 off the Cantamar exit.  Ruben’s will be serving dinner for concert goers at 5:30 and 6:30 followed by the concert at 7:30.  Come early, stay late and have a rip-roaring good time, a terrific meal and the most fun you’ve had in years.

Dinner and concert tickets can be purchased online or at Ruben’s restaurant.  To purchase tickets online go to www.BajaCowboys.com/shop.  CD’s and Life’s Much Better t shirts will be available for purchase at the concert.  For more information contact [email protected] or call (760) 444-3078.
