The Baja Cowboys Fan Appreciation Concert

The Baja Cowboys rocked the house with boot stomping, roof shaking energy on Friday, October 10th at Fiesta El Pescador at K44.  This show, the last one in 2014, was their fan appreciation, “Life’s Much Better” concert and was limited to 80 fans.

The Cowboys added a new drummer last spring and a new lead guitar player over the summer.  Vern Monett, formally with Freddy Fender and the Texas Tornados is a true virtuoso on lead guitar.  The energy of the group built quickly with Tom Doyle wailing on drums and keeping the pace as Alex DePue on fiddle and Vern rocked.  Randy Redmon, the always-entertaining, talented front man and the bands bass player, kicked it up several notches.  The dance floor was packed all night and the Cowboys were called back for an encore.  The resulting show was pure magic!

Fiesta served a delicious BBQ menu that included their popular beef brisket and ribs and kept the libations coming.  People enjoyed dining on the patio and indoors before the concert so that during the performance people would have more elbow and dancing room.

The band’s play list included a dozen new songs with five originals that will be included on their much-awaited upcoming album titled “Life’s Much Better”.  Pre-orders of the album are being taken through www.kickstarter.com.  Kickstarter is a crowd-funding site where fans can help fund the album by pre-ordering a signed CD, buy tickets for the CD release party, or even be part of the recording with album credit.  A brilliant mixing engineer will complete the final mix of the album in Nashville, TN. He has several gold records and Grammy’s to his credit.

The band’s next concert won’t be until March of 2015 when the CD release party is planned; date and location to be announced.
